    About "Jerome Segundo"

    1. Jerome Segundo

By the traditional yardsticks of success social climbing, professional accomplishment, wealth accumulation , I have led an unremarkable life However, by nontraditional measures, well, um, actually, pretty much the same.

    1. Author Jerome Segundo claims to have led an unremarkable life Perhaps this underlies his choice in writing a fictional memoir where, as the author himself states, nontraditional measures tell a interesting story And interesting it is.Though described as a guy book by none other than the author himself, this is not to say that it cannot be enjoyed by the fairer sex If nothing else, it offers some titillating insights into the male mind, with the story revolving around three male characters Jerom [...]

    2. This fella can write circles around most of the so called must read books out there He s got a real sense of things, and you don t even know you re readin a story on account the words just fall off the page This fella s smart, slick, and has a way of tellin tales you want to read How come books like this don t get made into movies

    3. Wow What do I do with this story It is clear to me that it s most likely only nominally fictional This is the saddest funny memoir I have ever read in my life. Most of you won t have the benefit of reading the cover letter that first readers receive, which made me laugh out loud This man has a gift for writing, and has the potential to be really hilarious In places, his book is funny, in a dark way But life has taken the spring out of his step spoiler alert below He s been to prison, and he emerg [...]

    4. As usual, I won this book from the author in what I would categorize as a quasi GoodReads giveaway Despite that kind consideration my candid opinions follow. The story masquerades as a not so typical twenty something memoir our three protagonists, who could not be any dissimilar, find themselves in a series of amusing and illuminating situations that reveal much about the mental state of men at this particular time of life.On the positive side, once the reader is properly engaged with the novel [...]

    5. I won this book as a First Reads prize thank you I m 61 years old and a female, but this book is a hoot Not necessarily what I d read to edify myself, but it was a fun read Mr Segundo knows how to spin a tale and I laughed out loud several times Yes, it s sophomoric, scatological, full of farting and bathroom humor, but it gives some insight into the mind of a very different demographic from me and this author has a gift for writing that may not appeal to everyone Give it a shot You just might l [...]

    6. This novel drew me in pretty fast I was pretty amused by the premise, a train wreck of a fictional memoir by a disillusioned twenty something, and I immediately liked the author s style, and the flow of the story Then I got a little frustrated with some of the immature banter the dynamic of the main character and his two best friends got on my nerves at first This is not a criticism of the writing, as I m sure the author wrote the characters this way intentionally I just personally had some trou [...]

    7. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it Although he portrays himself as a not so smart baffoon type of person, his writing is quite intelligent The book has a great flow, never a dull moment, moves along at an excellent pace The characters are very well developed The one and only thing that kept bothering me, was the character who was referred to with 3 different names throughout the book, and sometimes from one sentence to the next It took me a while to straighten it out and I thought there were 4 men havin [...]

    8. However you may feel about the type of language that the Author chose to use in his title please, whatever else you may think do not think that this is a book written by a person who cannot string a coherent sentence together It does, however, leave me in a quandary as how to actually review this novel, as it s not quite like anything I ve read before. To be taken at face value this book would appear to be the ramblings of someone not quite in their right mind, but when the reader begins to look [...]

    9. First off, a fictional memior crazy idea, but I love it Jerome is a typical guy with a typical life Graduated and looking for employment Finds a job and works with his perfect woman Things go well and they start dating Until he he he rapes her His story about breaking the past and defining his future You must look past the cover and the title Both are over the top and genius, but have nothing to do with this tall tale.

    10. This was a recommendation It was clearly a good one, as I read it in one sitting It s a fictionalized memoir, about a hapless 20 something who ends up going to jail for the crime of rape He probably shouldn t have had to go to jail, unless being clueless and mis reading signals is a crime He gains insight into the reason for the charge after his release The ending was satisfying, if a bit unbelievable But that s ok, I was happy for him.

    11. Don t be put off by the title of this book It is actually quite an enjoyable read Jerome has written a book with interesting dialogue and wit.I received the book for free through GoodReads First Reads Competition

    12. This was a book I liked one chapter and didn t the next I appreciated winning it through the Giveaways Also the Thomas Crapper made up quote needs to be made into wall art, I know exactly where I d put it
